MY STORY
& MY GOAL
My goal with Tone It Down is to show all women the safest,
most effective ways to workout according to our physiology.
I want to show them how powerful, beneficial and sustainable it can be to honor
who we are and how our bodies work
when it comes to reaching our physical, mental, and fitness goals.

And I want to help them get away from the pressures that diet and hustle culture have
put on us to look, feel, and workout in certain ways that are quite literally
wrecking our health, cycles, fertility, and progress.
Although fitness is just one area of life where the unique strengths of our physiology
can be harnessed, it is a powerful one.

I KNOW THIS ALL TOO WELL FROM FIRSTHAND EXPERIENCE..
I grew up a competitive athlete and later in life found myself a regular-turned-trainer at the gym. I was constantly chasing the gym high and #bodygoals by training way too hard (too much high intensity, cardio up the wazoo, two-a-days…you name it), improperly fueling my body, and recovering way too little.
If I wasn’t dead on the floor in a pool of sweat after a workout, it didn't count to me!
When none of those methods seemed to get me where I wanted to be, I went even HARDER. Only to find myself completely burnt out and depleted.
· I lost my period
· My hair was coming out in clumps
· I had cystic acne
· I was gaining fat despite all of my efforts not to
· I was diagnosed with PCOS
· My digestive system was a MESS (constant bloating/constipation or diarrhea)
· My sleep was terrible
· My energy was at an all-time low
· My anxiety was at an all-time high
· My immune system was suffering
· My metabolism and libido were shot
…the list could go on and on. It was just an all-around sh!t show.
It was only after I hit rock bottom with my health and my body that I realized something had to give.
I took a step back from what I was doing and saw that, despite what I was led to believe most of my life…

GIVING 110% ALL OF THE TIME WAS ACTUALLY HURTING ME.
I realized I needed to completely revamp my lifestyle in and out of the gym if I wanted to see a change.

Slowly but surely I began to find the value in Toning It Down.
I worked out less. I rested, recovered and fueled my body more. I took courses and educated myself on the best ways to train as a woman. And, over some much needed time, I am proud to say that I have improved or reversed just about every symptom I was experiencing,
all while seeing

MAJOR IMPROVEMENTS IN THE WAY I LOOK, FEEL, AND PERFORM IN MY WORKOUTS!
Don’t get me wrong, my healing journey has not been linear by any means. Nor has it been easy. It took a lot of time and I still have my struggles. But the improvements I have experienced by making these intentional changes have been life changing.
Which is why I am SO passionate about spreading the word!
While I know not everyone will have gone through the same struggles as me,
I still believe it is SO important to educate ALL women
(not just those experiencing imbalances or burnout)
about how our bodies work.
So that we can be proactive rather than reactive when it comes to our health. And so that we can all thrive rather than just survive.
If I can contribute to this education by providing the resources that I do so that we can better understand and support our bodies, then you better believe I’m gonna do it!!
I sincerely hope Tone It Down brings you as much hope, healing, results, and a good sweat!!, as it has for me.
Enjoy, my girls!
